REVIEW OF THE KAMPALA AMENDMENTS ON THE CRIME OF AGGRESSION: PERSPECTIVE OF AFRICAN STATES PARTIES TO THE INTERNATIONAL CRIMINAL COURT (ICC)

The meeting will be moderated by AFLA’s Executive Director, Evelyn A Ankumah. It will begin with an opening statement by HE Franz Xaver Perrez, Director General, Directorate of International Law, Federal Department of Foreign Affairs of Switzerland.

Presentations will be delivered by:

· Hon Godfred Dame, Attorney General and Minister of Justice of Ghana

· Hon Titus Mvalo, Minister of Justice of Malawi

· Hon Yvonne Dausab, Minister of Justice of Namibia

· Hon Lamin Tarawalley, Attorney General and Minister of Justice of Sierra Leone

This will be followed by a discussion from the floor, commencing with observations by Prof Niel Blokker, Professor of International Institutional Law, Leiden University.

The event will have simultaneous interpretation in French and English and will be followed by a reception.
